My little girl was born nine weeks early at only 3lbs. It seems that it was only yesterday that I was spending 18 hours a day in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit), watching her fight for her life. From her beginning, she has been a remarkable child. She is resilient, beautiful, and full of life. My child, now 10 years old, was my muse for this portrait shoot.

I recently saw her holding and watching my hourglass. It gave me a rushing sensation of how fast time goes by and while watching her grow up before my eyes is amazing, it’s also scary. I decided to create a vintage style portrait session using her and that same hourglass. 

Post processing, I wanted a vintage feel, but with a slight pop of color and a painterly feel. The post processing is part of the concept itself. It’s all about time.
