All over the world, butterflies symbolize many different things including happiness, life, hope, and change. While the world is in a state of chaos, I wanted to feel all things beatuiful through my work.

My goal was to create a series combinding my love for women's portraiture and nature, specifically flowers and butterflies.

For this series, I chose to use an outdoor location shooting high noon for dimension, light leaks, and scattered light for a very natural and raw feel. To ensure proper exposure of the subject, I used a combination of OCF and a reflector.

For post processing, I used photoshop for photo editing. I gave the photos a deeper, saturated feel while keeping the soft feminitiy of the subject. The butterflies were added during this process using butterfly overlays provided by Jessica Drossin.
