Hello there! Thank you so much for visiting my website. I am super excited that you are considering Amber Fite Photography as your custom portrait photographer!
This is the part where I am supposed to tell you a little about myself! I am a certified professional photographer, a United States Army Veteran, a mother, and a wife. I have two children, Matthew and Mackenzie, who are the absolute loves of my life! My husband, one of my biggest supporters, is an active duty soldier, a great husband, and even better dad! Life is pretty good. Oh, and I have two amazing German Shepherds, Sadie and Sarah, who keep me just as busy as my kids! I am from the South, but we currently live in DuPont, Washington!
I wasn’t always a photographer. I’ve always had a love for the art of photography, but before this journey, my place in this world was public service; the Army and Law Enforcement. I just knew that I was put here on this Earth to serve and protect. While pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, I chose to enlist in the Army. I started off my career as Military Police, but soon found my calling in Psychological Operations at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. I had some amazing adventures; jumping out of airplanes, doing my job in Iraq, leading young soldiers, and so much more. I never thought I would do anything different…
This is where my photography journey begins…
In 2008, I returned home from another deployment from Iraq. I was 30 and my husband and I decided to start a family. Little did I know at the time that it would be the start of so much more than that. At seven months pregnant, I begin to fall very ill to severe pre-eclampsia. I was hospitalized and had an emergency c-section at just 31 weeks. My life forever changed. My beautiful daughter was born nine weeks early at only 3lbs. I spent the next nine weeks in the NICU watching my little girl fight for her life. I was so scared that I would lose her that I began taking photos; I didn’t want to miss anything. I took as many photos as I could and during shift change where I would have to leave, I would run and have them all developed, put into an album, and began again. I did this every day… my immense love for photography was also born. My precious girl made it through and was able to come home. I realized that I had a new place in this world - to be her mother. I made the bittersweet decision to leave the Army and take care of my baby girl. Amber Fite Photography came shortly after.
Eight years later, here I am; a certified professional photographer specializing in maternity, high school senior, and child portrait photography! Life has a funny way of working out, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I look forward to being your photographer and capturing those precious memories with the click of my shutter.
Much love and thank you for reading!
